The Texas A&M football team scrimmaged for two hours on Tuesday at Kyle Field with a number of injured players missing the scrimmage.
"I saw some positive things today," Head Coach R.C. Slocum said. "We had a number of offensive linemen out and that made it hard to be consistent. We had some good throws today and some good plays in the passing game. (Richard) Whitaker made some good cuts."
Quarterback Mark Farris was 13-of-20 for 168 yards with a 48-yard completion to Dwain Goynes to set up a one-yard touchdown run by Amon Simon.
Quarterback Colby Freeman was 6-of-12 for 84 yards including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Richard Whitaker.
Quarterback Vance Smith was 6-of-15 for 66 yards including a 30-yard toss to set up a field goal by Terence Kitchens.
Running back Richard Whitaker rushed 16 times for 85 yards.
Players missing the scrimmage were: wide receiver Bethel Johnson (ankle); offensive lineman Taylor Whitley (ankle); offensive lineman Michael Mahan (shoulder); offensive lineman Alan Reuber (broken leg); linebacker Jared Morris (neck); tight end J.P. LeCompte (ankle); defensive lineman Ty Warren (stomach virus); and running back Oschlor Flemming (shoulder).
The Aggies will complete spring drills with the final practice on Wednesday.
Texas A&M opens the 2000 season on Sept. 2 against the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
