Student Tickets for 2000 Season Opener

Due to the limited number of tickets made available to Texas A&M, Aggie students wishing to attend the 2000 football season opener in South Bend, Indiana, against the University of Notre Dame must participate in a random draw.

Of the total allotment of 5,000 tickets for Texas A&M, the students receive 20 percent or 1,000 tickets.

Applications are available at the Texas A&M athletic ticket office inside the lobby of G. Rollie White and students must have a current I.D. card and athletics sports card. One ticket for each application submitted. An application form is also available on the Internet at http://sports.tamu.edu/tickets/football/ndstudent.html.

All applications must be received by 4 p.m. on May 3 for the random draw. The selected applicants and alternates will have their I.D. numbers posted in the lobby of G. Rollie White Coliseum on Thursday, May 4 at 8 a.m.

To receive the tickets, those selected must provide the ticket office with payment of $36 for each ticket and present their current student I.D. and their athletics sports card by 4 p.m. on Friday, May 12. Charge to credit cards will only be processed after the applicant has been selected.

Those students selected will be required to pick up their tickets between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28 or between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29 in the lobby of G. Rollie White Coliseum.

On the application form, a space is available to have names added to a waiting list in the event of any tickets not picked up by 4 p.m. on Aug. 29. If any tickets remain, they would go on sale beginning on Aug. 30 to those on the waiting list.

The Aggies and the Fighting Irish open the 2000 season at Notre Dame Stadium (80,012 capacity) on Saturday, Sept. 2. The game will be televised nationally by NBC-TV with kickoff set for 12 noon central.
