The No. 24-ranked Texas A&M football team practiced for two hours in shorts and shoulder pads Sunday evening at the grass practice facility adjacent to Kyle Field.
Redshirt freshman running back Richard Whitaker from Jacksonville, Texas, missed part of Sunday's workout after suffering a pulled groin. He is listed as day-to-day.
The squad will return to the practice field on Monday for two workouts. All practices are closed to the public.
On Saturday, the Aggies will meet with fans during a photo and autograph session at Kyle Field beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
The Aggies will open the season on September 2 against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., in a game that will be nationally televised by NBC Sports.
