In honor of retiring Texas A&M men's golf coach Bob Ellis, the Bob Ellis Bulldog Bash will be Sept. 23-24 and will consist of a dinner roast and a scramble golf tournament featuring former and current A&M golfers. Ellis is retiring after the 2000-01 season, his 27th year at A&M.
The roast will be Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Clayton Williams Former Students Center. Among the roasters will be former A&M basketball coach Shelby Metcalf and former Olympic gold medalist Randy Matson.
The golf tournament will be Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. (lunch served at noon) at the Texas A&M University Golf Course. One former or current A&M golfer will be a member of each four-man team. Sunday lunch will be provided by Outback Steakhouse.
Golf entries are $125 each and include a ticket to the roast. Additional tickets to the roast are $20. Hole sponsorships also are available.
