Texas A&M sophomore Matt Lindholm of Georgetown, Texas, carded a one-over-par 72 and is tied for 35th place after Monday's first round of the U.S. Men's Amateur Golf Championships at Baltusrol Golf Club.

Lucan Glover owns the first-round lead after carding a four-under-par 67 on the 6,887-yard, par-71 layout and leads James Driscoll (68) and Jeff Wilson (68) by one stroke. After Tuesday's second round, the 316-player field will be trimmed to the low 64 scorers, who will begin match play on Wednesday.

Also from Texas A&M, junior Clay Fullick (Baytown, Texas) is tied for 145th place after carding a 76, while sophomore Dwayne Morley (Houston, Texas) is tied for 231st with a 79. Former A&M golfer Steve Bodenheimer is tied for 125th place after a firing a 75.

Lindholm, who last season became the first freshman in A&M history to lead the Aggies in scoring average, posted just one birdie but only two bogies on Monday. He birdied the 223-yard, par 3 seventh hole, but bogeyed the Par-3 third hole and the par-3 15th. Fullick posted one birdie and four bogeys in his round while Morley had eight bogeys and no birdies. Bodenheimer had three birdies, but they were off-set by five bogeys and one double bogey.

The entire match play portion of the tournament will be televised nationally, with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday's action being carried by ESPN and Saturday and Sunday's play being broadcast by NBC.
