Freshman guard Trayvean Scott of Baton Rouge, La., has withdrawn from Texas A&M while freshman forward Jesse King of Detroit, Mich., has failed to reach academic entrance requirements, Aggies head coach Melvin Watkins said Friday.

"Trayvean was here for one day and decided he was homesick," Watkins said of the 6-1 point guard. "It wasn't anything against Texas A&M, he just decided he wanted to be with his family. We are very disappointed. He was a young man we were counting on to compete for playing time. We'll move forward and someone else will have to pick up the slack."

King, a 6-6 forward, could join the team in December if he meets the entrance requirements at that time. "We look for him to be here for the second semester," Watkins said.
