The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the 13th Annual Taylor Made Red River Classic Monday and Tuesday at Dallas Athletic Club. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes.
In addition to A&M, the powerful field includes No. 5-ranked Texas, No. 7 Brigham Young, No. 10 Houston, No. 12 Oklahoma State, No. 13 TCU, No. 18 Kent State, No. 19 Oklahoma, No. 23 Southern California, Arkansas, Duke, SMU, LSU and Ohio State.
Representing A&M will be senior Casey Cronin, freshman Stephen Reed, sophomore Dwayne Morley, freshman Duke Butler and junior Sean Gilliland.
"We've had a tough start this year, so to finish in the top five at this tournament would give us a big lift," A&M assistant coach Dru Fenimore said. "The tournament includes a lot of good teams from our conference and district. So we have a good opportunity to improve our standing as far as regionals in the spring. We have a very young, but a very competent team, but we need to play well and gain some confidence."
