The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the Windon Memorial Classic Monday and Tuesday at The Knollwood Country Club.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 holes on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes on the 6,951-yard, par-72 layout, which played host to the 1982 U.S. Mid-Amateur and the 1956 U.S. Amateur.
In addition to A&M, the 12-team field includes tournament host Northwestern, North Florida, Kent State, USC, Oklahoma, Stanford, Duke, Miinnesota, Mississippi State, Toledo and Vanderbilt.
Representing A&M will be freshman Stephen Reed, junior Sean Gilliland, sophomore Matt Lindholm, sophomore Dwayne Morley and freshman Duke Butler.
"The Knollwood is a great old course and the tournament has a very strong field," A&M coach Bob Ellis said. "The weather will have an effect on the outcome. We are putting a very young team out there and it will definitely be a challenge for them."
