The Texas A&M men's golf team carded a final round 299 on Tuesday to finish 11th at the Windon Memorial Classic at Knollwood Country Club.
No. 19-ranked Oklahoma won the tournament with rounds of 299-281-288=868, finishing seven strokes ahead of runner-up Southern California (875). Minnesota and Toledo tied for third (880), followed by No. 20-ranked Duke (886), No. 9 Northwestern (888), North Florida (891), Kent State (894), Vanderbilt (895), Stanford (898), A&M (302-302-299=903) and Mississippi State (913).
USC freshman Hunter Mahan won the individual title with a three-under-par total of 72-68-73=213, one stroke ahead of teammate Nick Jones (70-69-75=214) and Oklahoma's Cody Freeman (72-69-73=214).
Sophomore Matt Lindholm led the Aggies, tying for 29th place with rounds of 75-78-72=225. Also for A&M, freshman Stephen Reed tied for 34th at 77-75-74=226, junior Sean Gilliland tied for 40th at 75-79-74=228, freshman Duke Butler also tied for 40th with rounds of 75-74-79=228 and sophomore Dwayne Morley tied for 51st at 79-75-80=234.
The Aggies will compete in the Red River Classic Monday and Tuesday at the Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas.
