Junior Josh McCoy carded rounds of 70-67-73=210 to finish at even par and tie for second individually at the Henry Griffitts Baylor Invitational Tuesday at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco.
As a team, the Aggies' 54-hole total of 285-286-299=870 was 30-over-par on the par-70, 6,469-yard layout. Southeastern Louisiana won the tournament with a 18-over-par 858, followed by Louisiana-Lafayette (860), Baylor (862), Wichita State (864), Mississippi (864), Toledo (866), Lamar (868), A&M (870), Iowa State (872), Arkansas-Little Rock (873), Nebraska (875), Texas Tech (882), Sam Houston State (886), Stephen F. Austin (889), North Texas (893), Missouri (896) and Southwest Texas State (901).
Baylor's Jimmy Walker won the individual title with a 4-under-par total of 68-66-72=206, four strokes ahead of McCoy and Chris Stroud of Lamar.
Also for A&M, freshman Duke Butler tied for 40th at 68-73-80=221, senior Matt Loving tied for 47th at 76-72-74=222, junior Clay Fullick tied for 47th at 73-74-75=222 and freshman Stephen Reed tied for 62nd at 74-74-77=225. Senior Casey Cronin, playing as an individual, finished tied for 78th at 74-76-80=230.
The Aggies return to action Feb. 15-17 when they travel to Waikaloa, Hawai'i for the Taylor Made Waikaloa Intercollegiate.
