Texas A&M Head Football Coach R.C. Slocum announced today outside linebacker Jason Glenn will undergo surgery later in the week and will be out for the rest of the football season.

"Obviously, this is a big blow to our football team," Coach Slocum said. "Not only his performance on the playing field, but the leadership he gave our squad was tremendous. He plans to be on the sideline when we play in Austin."

Glenn, a senior from Houston Nimitz High School, is the emotional leader on the Wrecking Crew. He leads the team with 15 tackles for losses of 56 yards and recorded five sacks for losses of 33 yards. Glenn has picked off two passes and has broken up 13 other passes this season from his outside linebacker position.

Glenn injured his left knee in the game against Oklahoma (Nov. 11). He ruptured a lateral tendon and the lateral collateral ligament. Surgery will be performed later in the week to reattach the torn structures.
