Head Coach Melvin Watkins
"We're trying to send a message to the guys. We need to concentrate on the things we need to do to be a better team. It was a good start for us. We put an emphasis on our defense. The last game I wasn't pleased with our intensity or our effort. I was pleased this time. we came out ready to play. Jamaal (Gilchrist) missed the last game. We are definitely a different team with him. He was a little sluggish at times but that's because he hasn't practiced. It was good to have him back. We're still missing some bodies. I don't have the rotation I'd like to have. We're moving in the right direction in terms of where we want to be."

Today we wanted to try and work on our defense, especially the help side defense. Today we focused more. We had some trouble on our offensive boards but in the second half we got better. Before the game we took a different approach. Last game everyone was kind of nervous. This time, everyone was ready to play.
