The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the 16th Annual Louisiana Classics Monday and Tuesday at Oakbourne Country Club.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 holes on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes on the 7,002-yard, par-72 layout.
In addition to A&M, the 15-team field includes tournament host Louisiana-Lafayette, Colorado, Missouri, North Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Sam Houston State, Baylor, Mississippi, New Mexico State, SMU and Tulsa.
Representing A&M will be sophomore Matt Lindholm, freshman Duke Butler, sophomore Dwayne Morley, junior Josh McCoy and freshman Stephen Reed.
"This is a very important tournament for us since several teams from our district will be competing," A&M coach Bob Ellis said. "We need to beat some of these teams to put ourselves in better position to make a run at a regional bid. Several Big 12 teams are also playing so we'll get a good look at them before the Big 12 Championships next month."
