The Texas A&M football team continued the 2001 Spring Drills with a chilly two-hour workout in full pads at the grass practice fields on Thursday.
The Aggies were gearing up for the upcoming Maroon & White Game, which will kick off at Kyle Field at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Game captains Mark Farris and Vance Smith picked teams on Wednesday and complete rosters for both teams can be found at: AggieAthletics.com (click here). Near the end of Thursday's workout, the Aggies broke up into their respective teams for a quick session.
"They're excited," head coach R.C. Slocum said. "It's going to be a fun thing, but it's going to be competitive too. We're looking for guys with the ability to make plays. We'll try to make it as close to a real game atmosphere as we can. The first and second teams are all scattered out on both teams so we won't have a lot of continuity, so we're looking more at individual performances."
Admission to the game will be $5 for adults and $2 for high school age and under. A&M students can use their football or all-sport passes for admission. Tickets for the game can be obtained from the Texas A&M Ticket Office in G. Rollie White Coliseum or by calling the Ticket Office at 979/845-2311.
