Aggie Golfers Finish 10th at Carolina Tourney

The Texas A&M men's golf team finished in 10th place at the UNC/N.C. State Intercollegiate after posting a three round total of 288-304-288=880 at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Sunday.

Sophomore Dwayne Morley took the highest Aggie honors by finishing in a tie for 17th at 73-74-70=217. Freshman Duke Butler also made the top 25 with a tie for 19th at 72-74-72=218. Next for the Aggies was sophomore Matt Lindholm in a tie for 40th carding rounds of 71-80-73=224 followed by senior Casey Cronin in 52nd and freshman Stephen Reed in a tie for 53rd, posting rounds of 72-83-73=228 and 79-76-74=229, respectively.

Duke University, ranked No. 25, finished atop all contenders in team standings with a score of 282-287-287=856. Wake Forest, ranked No. 19, grabbed second at 283-285-290=858 followed by North Carolina in third at 283-286-291=860, No. 10-ranked North Carolina State (864), No. 6-ranked Augusta State (866), No. 15-ranked East Tennessee State (869), Colorado (873), Tulsa (873), Kansas (878), Texas A&M (880), No. 23-ranked Minnesota (883), and Vanderbilt (908).

Kevin Streelman of Duke finished ahead of all individuals with rounds of 69-71-69=209. Second place went to David Sanchez of North Carolina State who carded 69-66-75=210 followed by Jamie Elson of Augusta State in third at 71-73-67=211.

The Aggies' next action will be at the Big 12 Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas, April 23-24.
