The Texas A&M volleyball concluded its spring exhibition schedule Thursday by going undefeated at its own four-team tournament. The Aggies opened the tournament by defeating TCU, 30-16, 30-12, and then defeated Houston, 30-19, 30-27.
A&M finished the tournament with a 30-28, 30-25 victory over Team Houston, a group of former college athletes, including former A&M players Christy Clark, Jennifer (Wells) Kazmierski, Farah Mensik and former A&M standout and current assistant volleyball coach Genny Wood-Volpe.
The Aggies, who return four starters from last year's team that advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and ranked 23rd in the final Top 25 Poll with a 20-9 record, finish the spring exhibition season with a 8-2-2 record. They open the 2001 regular season August 31 against Samford and Houston at the Rice Tournament in Houston.
