Bradley Jackson of the College of Southern Idaho has signed a national letter-of-intent to play college basketball at Texas A&M, Aggies' coach Melvin Watkins said Friday.

Jackson, a 5-foot-10 point guard, is the second junior college point guard signed by Watkins this spring, joining Michael Gardener from Garden City (Kan.) Community College. Daryl Mason, a 6-6 guard from Bryan (Texas) High School, signed with the Aggies last fall.

Jackson averaged 4.5 points and 4.6 assists per game and posted a 3-to-1 assists-to-turnovers ratio as a sophomore at Southern Idaho, starting in 27 of 33 games for the nationally-ranked program that finished the year with a 29-4 record.

As a freshman, Jackson played for coach Steve Fisher at San Diego State, starting in 24 of 28 games and averaging 7.1 points and leading the team in assists (3.6) and steals (1.4). Jackson posted career highs of 17 points and 11 assists.

As a senior at South High School in Torrance, Calif., Jackson was rated as the eighth-best point guard in the nation by Athlon Magazine and was a honorable mention All-America pick by Street & Smiths after averaging 20.2 points per game.

After graduating from Inglewood, he played one year at Bridgton Academy in Maine, where he averaged 15.0 points and 6.0 assists per contest and was named the team's most valuable player after leading them to a 30-6 record. Jackson also was recruited by Western Kentucky, Fordham, Rutgers and Villanova, among others.

"We're are excited about adding Bradley to our team," Watkins said. "He adds quality depth to our point guard position. He's the kind of kid who can run the team, communicate the offensive and defensive assignments and be a coach on the floor. He's an unselfish player who looks for the pass first and the shot second."
