For the third straight year since the expansion of the north end zone at Kyle Field, Texas A&M has set a record for season ticket sales. Through June 10, the general public season ticket orders reached 34,179. The old mark was set last year with 30,337 season tickets sold and the first year of the Kyle Field expansion saw a record of 26,362 general public sales.

"We're very pleased with the enthusiasm shown by members of the 12th Man Foundation and all of our fans in purchasing season tickets for the upcoming football season," Aggie Athletics Director Wally Groff said. "In addition to the general public orders, we had some 27,581 students purchase season tickets last season and we anticipate the same type of response this fall."

"There is a great deal of excitement surrounding the Notre Dame and Texas home games," Groff said. "I would encourage fans wanting to assure themselves of a seat to those contests to purchase season tickets. It appears the only individual game tickets available for the Notre Dame and Texas games will be those in the bleachers or the folding chairs on the track."

Season tickets are available by calling the Texas A&M athletic ticket office at (979-845-2311) or 1-888-99AGGIE (1-888-992-4443). Fans may also contact the 12th Man Foundation at (979-846-8892).

The Aggies open the 2001 season at Kyle Field against McNeese State on Sept. 1 with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.
