Texas A&M senior wide receiver Bethel Johnson had surgery to remove his spleen on Monday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Bryan, Texas after experiencing complications on Sunday, Aggie head coach R.C. Slocum said.
Slocum said the doctors reported that the procedure appeared to go well and expect a full recovery. His return to football is not precluded.
Johnson, who bruised his spleen in the Aggies' 28-20 victory over Wyoming on Sept. 6, was originally released from St. Joseph on Saturday after spending much of last week in the hospital.
