Injuries to a pair of key starters marred the Aggies' Tuesday preparations for this weekend's Big 12 opener against Oklahoma State.
Going down during the workout were redshirt freshman Keith Joseph and junior outside linebacker Jarrod Penright.
Joseph left with an AC separation of his right shoulder and is doubtful for Saturday's game, according to A&M head coach R.C. Slocum, who wouldn't rule out using sophomore Richard Whitaker at running back. Whitaker was the Aggies' leading rusher in 2000, but has been working at wide receiver for the last week.
Penright went down with a sprained right ankle and is listed as questionable for the OSU game, according to Slocum.
The Aggies and Oklahoma State will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Kyle Field.
