The Texas A&M men's golf team is in 14th place after Friday's opening two rounds of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.
The Aggies carded a solid five-over-par 293 in the morning round, but ballooned to a 309 in the afternoon.
Host New Mexico leads the field by eight shots with a two-round total of 572. Southeastern Louisiana's Andy Smith carded a 36-hole total of 139, five-under-par, and leads the individual standings by two strokes.
The Aggies were led by junior Dwayne Morley, who is tied for 28th after carding rounds of 74-74=148. Also for the Aggies, senior Sean Gilliland (71-78=149) and sophomore Stephen Reed (73-76=149) are tied for 36th, freshman Rand Arbuckle is tied for 91st at 75-81=156 and seniors Clay Fullick (75-84=159) and Josh McCoy (78-81=159) are tied for 100th.
The tournament concludes with a final 18 holes on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. (CDT).
