The Texas A&M men's golf team is in 15th place after Monday's opening two rounds of the Taylor Made Red River Shootout at Dallas Athletic Club.
The Aggies carded rounds of 300-291=591 on Monday, 15-over-par on the par-73, 6,766-yard layout. The tournament concludes with a final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Sophomore Stephen Reed carded rounds of even-par 72-72=144 to lead the Aggies, but trails tournament leader Jason Hartwick of Texas (65-66=131) by 13 strokes. Oklahoma's Martin Flores is second at 69-67=136.
Texas leads the tournament after carding an 18-under-par total of 276-282=558. Ohio State is in second at 561, followed by Oklahoma (564), TCU (565), SMU (569), Washington (570), USC (570), Oklahoma State (570), BYU (574), Arizona (575), Houston (576), Northwestern (578), Duke (584), Kent State (589) and A&M (591).
Also for A&M, freshman Rand Arbuckle is tied for 61st place after carding rounds of 75-74=149, senior Sean Gilliland (76-74=150) and freshman Tyler Garrett (78-72=150) are tied for 63rd and senior Josh McCoy is tied for 77th at 81-73=154.
