Texas A&M Notes

C-ROD HAS BIG FIRST HALF: Senior outside linebacker Christian Rodriguez had a strong first quarter against Texas Tech, posting a career-high two quarterback sacks and batting down a Kliff Kingsbury aerial.

SACKERS: The Aggies sacked the Tech QB six times, which was just one off A&M's season-high seven QB sacks against Notre Dame. Outside linebacker Christian Rodriguez and defensive lineman Ty Warren both contributed two quarterback sacks, while inside linebacker Amon Simon and end Rocky Bernard contributed one each.

RUSHERS: The Aggies top two rushing efforts of the season have come the past two weeks, on the heels of A&M's two worst rushing efforts the previous two games. The Aggies rushed for 166 yards today against Texas Tech, which ranks just behind the season high of 190 against Iowa State last Saturday. The Aggies' ground resurgence comes after season low efforts of 42 yards and 51 yards in back to back Saturdays against Colorado and Kansas State.

SHUT OUT: The Aggies were shut out for the first time since 1999 when Penn State stifled the Aggies 24-0 in the Alamo Bowl. It's the first time the Aggies have been shut out in a conference game since Nebraska beat the Aggies 37-0 in 1999. It's the first time A&M has been shut out by Texas Tech since the Red Raiders defeated A&M 3-0 in Lubbock in 1983.

ODDS AND ENDS: Representing the Aggie student body on the 12th Man Kickoff team was Eric Stanford, a junior from Robinson High School in Waco, Texas … game captains were senior Rocky Bernard, juniors Taylor Whitley and Brian Gamble and sophomore Cody Scates.
