
NCAA Volleyball Championship Field to be Announced Monday

The 64-team field for the 2001 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will be announced during a live, 30-minute selection show at 2 p.m., (CST) Monday, November 26.
Fox Sports Net South (DirecTV 630/Dish Network 420), Fox Sports Net West 2 (DirecTV 653), Fox Sports Arizona (DirecTV 649/Dish Network 415) and Empire Sports (DirecTV 626/Dish Network 432) will air the show live.
The show also can be view with the use of a C-Band downlink moveable satellite dish. The satellite coordinates are Telstar 5, Transponder 23. Telstar 5 is located at 97 degrees west on the satellite orbital chart. The downlink frequency is 4160 MHz (V). the audio will be sent 6.2/6.8 mixed program. NCAA Productions will provide a test signal beginning at 1:30 p.m.
NCAA first and second rounds will be played Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 29-30, Nov. 30-Dec.1, or Dec. 1-2 on the campuses of competing institutions. Regionals are scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, Dec 6-7, 7-8 or 8-9, also on the campuses of competing institutions. The semifinals and finals will be played Thursday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 15 in San Diego, Calif.
The 15th-ranked Aggies, who finished the regular season 23-5 overall and in second place in the Big 12 with a 16-4 record, are aiming to make their ninth consecutive trip to the NCAAs and their 13th overall appearance. Last season, A&M defeated Houston in the first round and then was eliminated by No. 7 Pacific in the second round.
Nebraska, the defending national champion, claimed the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid by going 20-0 in conference play.
