Mark Farris passed for a career-high 341 yards and a touchdown and Joe Weber added three short scoring runs to lead Texas A&M over Wyoming 28-20 on Thursday night.
Farris, who completed 30 of 42 passes, hit a streaking Dwain Goynes from 38 yards to give the Aggies (2-0) an insurance score with 7:31 left.
Keith Joseph rushed 21 times for 105 yards as Texas A&M's running attack, which produced only 120 yards last week against McNeese State, improved to 166 against Wyoming (1-1).
Texas A&M held a 507-273 advantage in total offense.
The Cowboys, who lost 51-3 at College Station a year ago, stayed close throughout but never could forge ahead as the Aggies were 11 of 17 on third down.
Texas A&M snuffed Wyoming's last drive when Jarrod Penright sacked Casey Bramlet and forced a fumble for a 13-yard loss at the Wyoming 42 with about two minutes left. The Cowboys recovered the ball but a long pass on fourth-and-23 fell incomplete.
Farris' previous best was 311 yards against Baylor last year. His 30 completions also are a career high. He was 18-of-25 for 177 yards in the first half Thursday night.
Wyoming closed to 21-20 on Jarvis Wallum's 25-yard field goal with 2:18 left in the third quarter. His 52-yarder, a career-best, cut A&M's lead to 21-17 nine minutes earlier.
Interceptions by Sammy Davis and Jonte Buhl led to 21 straight first-half points by Texas A&M after Wyoming jumped to a 7-0 lead. All three touchdowns were 1-yard runs by Joe Weber.
Bramlet hit Malcom Floyd for a 30-yard touchdown pass to draw Wyoming to 21-14 with 3:47 left in the first half.
The Cowboys' Lamar James thwarted a Texas A&M drive with an end-zone interception with 21 seconds left in the half, leaving the Aggies up 21-14.
Davis' interception, his third of the season, and 18-yard return set up Weber's third TD, which came at 7:37 of the second quarter and a conversion pass from Farris to Bethel Johnson put the Aggies up 21-7.
Earlier in the quarter, Weber's second score snapped a 7-all tie and capped a nine-play, 62-yard drive. Cody Scates, who was wide on three second-half field goals, missed the extra point, leaving A&M up 13-7.
Weber's first TD came after Jay Brooks tipped a pass by Bramlet and Buhl intercepted at the Wyoming 49.
Nate Scott scored from 4 yards on Wyoming's opening drive, aided by two A&M penalties: a late hit by Brooks and a pass interference call against Brian Gamble.
