The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete in the 17th Louisiana Classics Monday and Tuesday at Oakbourne Country Club.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 holes on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes.
In addition to A&M, the 15-team field consists of host Louisiana-Lafayette, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas, Memphis, Missouri, North Texas, Rice, SMU, Southern Mississippi, Texas-San Antonio, Texas Tech and Tulsa.
Representing A&M will be sophomore Stephen Reed, sophomore Parker Briley, freshman Tyler Garrett, junior Dwayne Morley and senior Sean Gilliland.
"This is a very important tournament for our team," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "We will be facing a lot of teams from our district and this tournament could have a huge bearing on whether or not we qualify for the NCAA Regionals in May. We have been playing our best golf of the year and we hope to continue that this week. If we can eliminate some of our mental errors, then we should be competitive in this event."
