The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete against one of the strong fields they will face this season at the 36th annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at Austin Country Club.

The 15-team field includes eight teams ranked in the top 20 in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America poll. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes. Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and at 8 a.m. on Tuesday on the par 72, 6,906-yard layout.

In addition to A&M, the tournament features No. 5-ranked Oklahoma State, No. 7 Fresno State and Southern California (tie), No. 9 Texas, No. 10 TCU, No. 14 Oklahoma, No. 17 New Mexico, No. 20 Pepperdine, Brigham Young, Houston, North Florida, Northwestern, SMU and UNLV.

Representing the Aggies will be sophomore Stephen Reed, senior Sean Gilliland, sophomore Parker Briley, junior Dwayne Morley and freshman Tyler Garrett.

"This will be our toughest challenge of the spring," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "Austin Country Club is a very difficult test of golf and with any kind of inclement weather, it is just a bear. And there are so many good teams playing that we will really have our work cut out for us. We have been playing smart golf and we'll have to continue that trend is we hope to have any success."
