The Texas A&M men's golf team carded a final-round 314 on Tuesday and finished 15th at the 36th annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate at Austin Country Club.
No. 12-ranked Texas, the tournament host, won the event with a 54-hole total of 294-295-294=883, three strokes better than the runner-up, No. 23 Pepperdine (886). No. 8 TCU placed third at 891, followed by No. 21 New Mexico (892), No. 15 Oklahoma (894), Brigham Young (897), Southern California (899), Oklahoma State (903), Houston (904), Fresno State (909), SMU (911), Northwestern (917), UNLV (920), North Florida (921) and A&M (318-304-310=932).
Texas' John Klauk won the individual title with rounds of 70-71-69=210, six-under-par on the p;ar 72, 6,906-yard course. Klauk finished two strokes ahead of runner-up Randy Creighton of Pepperdine, who carded rounds of 71-73-68=212.
Senior Sean Gilliland led the Aggies, tying for 35th place with scores of 75-76-78=229, while freshman Tyler Garrett tied for 40th at 81-75-74=230, sophomore Stephen Reed tied for 66th at 82-78-78=238, junior Dwayne Morley tied for 66th at 81-75-82=238 and sophomore Parker Briley tied fir 76th at 81-82-80=243.
