The Texas A&M football team closed out Tuesday's workout with a hotly-contested goal-line drill at the A&M grass practice fields.
Starting from the 3-yard line, the Aggie offense battled the Wrecking Crew for approximately 30 plays.
"We worked on our goal-line offense and defense, and I saw a lot of good things from both sides," head coach R.C. Slocum said. "I thought we had some very good competition out there."
One of the highlights of the goal-line drills was a short touchdown plunge by Thomas Perry, who recently switched from linebacker. The touchdown elicited a smile from Perry's grandfather, John David Crow, who was watching from the sidelines. Crow won the Heisman Trophy as a senior at Texas A&M in 1957.
Starting offensive tackle Andre Brooks was carted from the field near the end of practice, but Slocum reported that Brooks was suffering from stomach problems from an illness.
The Aggies will practice again on Thursday, followed by the Maroon and White Game on Saturday at Kyle Field.
