The Texas A&M football team was back on the practice field Tuesday for the first time since last Saturday's annual Spring Game when the Maroons held off the White team for a 34-27 victory at Kyle Field.
The offenses combined for 61 points and produced 469 yards of total offense, while the defenses combined to force six turnovers, including three interceptions, and five quarterback sacks. The two teams were also only penalized eight times for 48 yards.
"I thought we were effective on offense and had good execution on both sides of the football (last Saturday)," A&M head coach R.C. Slocum said. "We did a good job of catching the ball. I think we have the makings of a good football team, and I think we'll get a boost when the (incoming) freshmen get in here."
The Aggies practiced for two hours in full pads on Tuesday but were with out the services of senior quarterback Mark Farris, who left Saturday's game after being sacked in the second half.
"Mark probably won't practice the rest of the spring," Slocum said. "He sprained his ankle and his knee, but there shouldn't be any long-term effect."
Slocum said the Aggies will practice three more times this spring - Wednesday in pads, Thursday in shorts and then close out the spring with a scrimmage on Friday at Kyle Field.
