Senior guard Larry Scott (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) has left Texas A&M for academic reasons, A&M coach Melvin Watkins said Friday.
"It became apparent that Larry could not continue to progress academically at Texas A&M," Watkins said. "Larry agrees with us that it is in his best interest to find an environment more suitable to reaching his goal of attaining a college degree. Larry was a solid member of our team and we will do all we can to help him find a place where he can succeed academically."
The 6-foot-6 Scott played in 73 games, starting in 19, in his three seasons at A&M, averaging 4.3 points per game and making 70 three-point field goals. He averaged 3.4 points as a junior last season and scored 15 points on five three-point field goals against Nebraska.
