The Texas A&M vs. Pittsburgh football game scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh will be nationally televised by ESPN. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. central (12 noon eastern).
Texas A&M and Pittsburgh have met once before on the gridiron with the Panthers edging the Aggies, 31-28, in the 1989 John Hancock Bowl in El Paso, Texas.
The Aggies open the 2002 season at home on Aug. 31 against Louisiana-Lafayette. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh opens the season the same day against the University of Ohio.
Head Coach R.C. Slocum will welcome the 2002 newcomers to campus on Aug. 5 with the veterans expected on Aug. 8. The first day of two-a-day workouts is Saturday, Aug. 10.
