The Texas A&M football team continued training for the upcoming season Sunday at the grass practice fields near Kyle Field.

The team wore shorts and shoulder pads during the lone afternoon workout and coach R.C. Slocum said despite the hot temperatures the team showed good intensity.

"It was 98 degrees when we came out today," Slocum said. "But, I thought the team showed good intensity and had good work ethic today. I complemented them on well they pushed through it."

Missing the workout was defensive back Ronald Jones who has a slight muscle pull, linebacker Kelvin Flood with a pulled hamstring, and wide receiver Greg Porter who has a swollen toe as a result of an errant fast ball recently during his stint with the Anaheim Class A squad. Porter is expected back on Monday.

Slocum also said that 26 Aggies will miss part of Monday's practices because summer school is still in session. Monday will be the final day of the second summer session and 10-week session, with finals scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Aggies will workouts on Monday are scheduled for 7:50 a.m. to 9 a.m, 10 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. All practices are open to the public and will be held at the grass practice facility. Fans should check for the specific practice schedule daily on AggieAthletics.com.
