The Texas A&M football team practiced in full pads Friday evening at the grass practice fields near Kyle Field.
Several players were held out of drills for a variety of muscle pulls. Tight end Thomas Carriger and offensive lineman Andre Brooks were held out due to sore knees.
"It was more of a precautionary measure with Andre and Thomas," Aggie Head Coach R.C. Slocum said.
Defensive back Dawon Gentry missed practice due to his back.
The Aggies will welcome their fans to Kyle Field on Saturday for Picture and Poster Day presented by Cingular Wireless. Gates will open at 9 a.m. and fans will be permitted on the field at 10 a.m. for the hour-long autograph and photo session with Aggie players, coaches and Yell Leaders.
The Aggies will end Saturday with a scrimmage at Kyle Field. The players will begin practice at 6:15 p.m.
The No. 23-ranked Aggies will kickoff the 2002 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 against Louisiana-Lafayette at 6 p.m. at Kyle Field.
