The No. 23-ranked Texas A&M football team closed out the final day of two-a-day workouts with a spirited evening practice on Wednesday at the grass practice fields. The Aggies drilled for two hours in full pads.
"We practiced a little better today," head coach R.C. Slocum said. "I think the cool breeze might have helped that."
The Aggies will practice once Thursday afternoon and then close out fall camp with a "game situation" practice on Friday.
The Aggies are gearing up for the 2002 season-opener against Louisiana-Lafayette on Aug. 31 at Kyle Field. In the Slocum era (since 1989), the Aggies are 10-3 in season opening contests and 13-0 in home-openers.
