The Texas A&M volleyball team is ranked 17th in the first USA Today/AVCA Top 25 Poll of the regular season, released today. The Aggies have been ranked in every regular-season AVCA Top 25 Poll since Sept. 26, 1995, when A&M broke in at No. 24.

Also ranked 17th in the preseason poll, the Aggies opened the 2002 campaign by going 3-0 and capturing the championship trophy at the McDonald's Texas A&M Invitational I over the weekend.

Defending national champion Stanford is No. 1. Nebraska, USC, Hawaii and Long Beach State round out the top five.

The Big 12 Conference is represented by three teams in the Top 25: No. 2 Nebraska, No. 17 Texas A&M and No. 25 Kansas State. Colorado received points and is ranked 27th.

Non-conference foe Wisconsin, who the Aggies face this weekend at the Wisconsin InnTowner Invitational, fell from No. 10 in the preseason poll to No. 16 after dropping a match to unranked North Carolina over the weekend.
