| --Sophomore volleyball player Kendra Felder will share her thoughts on the season, and other things, with us each week in AggieAthletics.com's player diary segment. September 11, 2002 This weekend was so wonderful. The volleyball team had the chance to travel to Wisconsin and play in a tournament with Illinois State, Montr?al, and Wisconsin. A lot of my teammates and I had never been there so we were pumped. Not only were we going to get to play some great volleyball, but see another part of God's beautiful country. The campus was right on Lake Mendota. It honestly looked like the ocean because of how blue and massive it was. Trees hovered over the streets, the homes were adorable, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We even got so see the Oscar Mayer factory. Needless to say, I had the Oscar Mayer weenie song in my head the rest of the day. "My hotdog has a first name, its O-S-C-A-R, my hotdog has a last name its M-A-Y-E-R...." Sounds better when I'm singing, ha-ha. Sorry, back to volleyball. It was a challenging tournament and we finished second behind Wisconsin. We had a great match and I could see that everyone out there wanted to win, but it just didn't go our way. All we can do is learn from it which I know we have, and apply it to future games. The Montr?al team was so interesting. They were from Canada and they all spoke French. I had never heard the language before. But being across the net from them was a bit weird. The fact that they spoke a different language created a barrier other than the net between us. But the language is definitely beautiful. The whole Price family was there too! When I say whole, I mean the WHOLE family. They were our cheering section along with Lexy's grandparents and they actually stood their ground being surrounded by Wisconsin fans. Carol really enjoyed seeing them and so did we. All in all it was a great experience. The first FCA meeting was tonight! It was awesome, I am so excited about this year. Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an organization for athletes and non-athletes at Texas A&M that will help you grow in the Lord and give you the opportunity to meet some amazing people who truly live for Jesus. We meet on Wednesdays in Netum Steed at 9 p.m. and anyone is welcome to come. Tonight two athletes shared their testimonies and it is amazing what the Lord has in store for every single person, if you just surrender to His will. Can you imagine, He has a separate and perfect plan for a billion different people? It's spectacular and peaceful at the same time. I can't wait to see the plan He has laid out for me, but it's all in His timing. |
