No. 20 Texas A&M extended its home winning streak to 17 with a 30-15, 30-17, 30-26 victory over Iowa State in front of 1,221 at G. Rollie White Coliseum.

The Aggies held the Cyclones to a -.016 hitting percentage for the match, a season low by an A&M opponent this season. In addition, A&M's A.D. Achilefu posted a match-high six blocks to lead the Aggies to a 14-3 blocking advantage.

The Cyclones stayed close early in the first game and trailed 18-13 when A&M went on an 11-1 run. With A&M leading 29-15, Cyclone Renae Puress, who led Iowa State with six kills in the match but was held to a .000 hitting percentage, was unable to connect with the set and hit into the net to end the game and put the Aggies up, 1-0.

A&M led , 8-7, in the second game before pounding the Cyclones for 14 consecutive points with Lexy Beers at the service line. Up 29-17, Melissa Munsch put down one of her match-high 12 kills to end the game.

The Aggies hit .265 in the game while holding Iowa State to a -.152 hitting percentage.

The Cyclones stayed close throughout the third game as there were 15 ties and eight lead changes. The final tie occurred at 23 before Achilefu recorded a kill to give the Aggies a lead they would not lose. A solo block by Beth Skypala and back-to-back kill errors by the Cyclones put A&M up, 27-23. The teams exchanged points, and with A&M leading, 29-26, Munsch put down a kill to end the match.

The Aggies, who snap a two-match losing skid, improve to 10-3 overall and 2-2 in Big 12. Iowa State falls to 9-6, 0-4.

The Aggies return to action Wednesday, Oct. 2, when they take on the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. First serve is at 7 p.m. at the OU Field House.
