Howdy! I'm coming to you from Husker territory. We have definitely had a fun and trying time here in Lincoln. We flew in yesterday (Friday), played today, and we fly home tomorrow. I would have to say that of all the Big 12 venues we play at Nebraska is my favorite.

Not only is the country beautiful, (the trees actually change colors!) but the fans are very respectful. I'm sorry, but I really lose respect for a university when I hear rude and unnecessary comments from their fans. Now, I'm not saying our fans are angels or anything, but I'd like to think they are courteous. When it comes down to it, the people here just love to watch good volleyball, so if you give them that, they are content. And that is definitely what I thought we did. Even though we did lose to them, we definitely put up a good hard fight. We played very calm and collected but still had fire in our eyes.

We decided that the difference between their team and ours is they have a certain confidence that we feel we don't have yet. They go out knowing they are going to win and they play like they are to the very end. Seeing that in them put the desire for that kind of attitude in our hearts. In no way are we satisfied with just putting up a fight.

Tonight we ate at the Athletic Club restaurant that is here in the hotel and we got to watch the football game on big screen TVs. It was funny because here we were in our Aggie-wear (all but me because it didn't dawn on me that their colors were red and I just happened to wear a red sweater) surrounded by Nebraska fans. Every time we did something good, we whooped and clapped as loud as we could. We got some looks but it was fun. I'm glad we weren't down there at the end of the game or we would have gotten it when they started to come back for the win.

Friday was so hilarious. Usually when we travel we have a short practice in the morning the day of the game to get used to the gym and the surroundings. But since our game was scheduled for 3 p.m., we had a late practice Friday night. Well, there just happened to be some snow on the ground (not necessarily fresh, but it worked) so we definitely took advantage of the situation.

After practice we had our coach, Genny Volpe, stall and keep John Corbelli inside the gym while we went outside and got our ammo ready. He had an idea of what we were going to do (great minds think alike) so he went from door to door trying to escape but he finally came out and we got him good! We "accidentally" got each other too. I have never seen fresh snow, but if I can have a snow ball fight, I don't care if its fresh or not. Just as long as it's not yellow!

God bless and have a wonderful week!
