The EA Sports Southwest All-Stars drained eight 3-pointers in the second half, rallying from behind for a 98-94 victory over the Texas A&M basketball team Tuesday in exhibition action before 3,006 fans at Reed Arena.

The Aggies cut the lead to two on a 3-pointer by Leandro Garcia-Morales with 2.7 seconds to play, but a pair of free throws by Maurice McLemore put the game out of reach.

A jumper by freshman Antoine Wright put the Aggies up 11 a minute into the second half, but EA Sports quickly whittled the A&M lead to three just minutes later.

EA hit 5-of-6 three-point attempts midway through the half to stay in the game and eventually took a 73-72 lead on a trey by Joe Smith with 8:29 left. After the Aggies went back ahead on a pair of Garcia-Morales free throws, EA Sports took the lead for good on another 3-pointer, this time by Tony Harvey.

Trailing by one midway through the first half, the Aggies went on a 17-4 run to take a 12-point lead on a pair of Bernard King free throws with 4:43 to go before the break.

Texas A&M hit 25-of-30 free throw attempts in the second half and shot 83 percent for the game. The teams combined for 56 fouls on the night.

Leading the way for the Aggies was Garcia-Morales with 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. The junior from Montevideo, Uruguay was also 12-for-12 from the line. King poured in 26 and was 12-of-14 from the charity stripe.

Five EA Sports All-Stars were in double figures, led by Smith's 19-point effort.

Texas A&M opens the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 24 when they host Texas Southern. Tipoff at Reed Arena is set for 7 p.m.
