Texas A&M softball coach Jo Evans announced the signing of Bryan High senior pitcher Lisa Gorzycki during the NCAA early signing period on Tuesday.

"We are excited to have Lisa join our program. She is a great athlete and will add versatility and speed to our line up. Lisa has accomplished great things in her high school career and we expect that to carry over into her collegiate career. We are happy to have a local player from Bryan and look forward to the community coming out to support her and the Aggie program."

Gorzycki was named the 5A Player of the Year by the Texas Sports Writers Association in 2002 after leading Bryan High to the state championship where she was named MVP of the tournament. She is a member of the ASA Sudden Impact Gold softball team and was selected as a member of the 18U Gold All-Tournament second team.

A three-time letterwinner at Bryan High, Gorzycki has also seen success in the classroom where she has been selected as an Academic All-District the last three years.

Gorzycki is the fifth recruit to sign with the Aggie softball team during the early signing period. Laura Durham of Pearland High, Joy Davis of Austin Bowie High, Christina Smith of Cinco Ranch High, and Sharonda McDonald from Pasadena Dobie High signed with the Aggies on November 13th.

The Texas A&M Softball team opens their season on Tuesday, February 4th at 3 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex against Stephen F. Austin.
