Texas A&M Head Football Coach Dennis Franchione named seven assistant coaches and his director of football operations on Tuesday.
"I'm glad to have these outstanding coaches join us here at Texas A&M," Franchione said. "Not only are they excellent coaches, but each one cares about young people."
"I've worked with these coaches and we're a team," Franchione added. "Being familiar with one another and our system will help move this process forward and our players will see that their coaches are on the same page."
Franchione named Stan Eggen, Lee Fobbs, Jim Bob Helduser, Kenith Pope, Melvin Smith, Chris Thurmond, and Mark Tommerdahl as assistant coaches. He named Charley North as director of football operations.
All of these men worked with Coach Franchione at the University of Alabama.
Specific assignments and complete bios will be released when the coaches have an opportunity to review the information.
