Journal Entry #5

We beat Louisiana-Monroe 107-66. That is not a typo, 41 points! There is not a whole lot to say about the game, but we pretty much dominated them in every aspect of it from the opening tip. It felt good to get a win like this on our home court in front of our fans. After finals were over we had four good tough practices that prepared us to get back on track after the loss to UTSA. All of us were ready to get back on the court and go to work because we were embarrassed in the way we played last weekend. The coaching staff did a great job with the scouting report and the game plan they came up with really caused Monroe problems all night. I thought everyone on the team played hard and had good games. Big Andy Slocum came back and played really well for having major back surgery two months ago. The whole team was happy to see him back out there because he has worked so hard to come back from all his injuries over the years. He is definitely going to help us the rest of the season especially when conference comes around. It was also good to see Dylan Leal get out on the court and hit a couple of 3's for us. He busts his butt every day and gives this team all he has. It was a good team win for us and exactly what we needed as we head to Cali for Christmas and the Cable Car Classic.

We will play Princeton in the first round of the tournament so that will be another challenging game for us. Princeton played Texas on Sunday to a close game but ended up losing by 3 in Austin. I am sure they will be a very disciplined team that does a lot of back door cutting. It should be a great tourney and our goal is to come back with two more wins and an 8-2 record. As a side note, LSU beat No. 1 Arizona this weekend. LSU's record is now 8-1 with their only loss coming to us down in Houston. That was a big win for us.
