Texas A&M seniors Ty Warren and Sammy Davis will compete in the annual Senior Bowl held at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday, Jan. 18. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. central and the game will be televised by ESPN.
Warren, from Bryan High School, will wear #94 while Davis, from Humble High School, will wear #22 for the South squad. The South team will be coached by the Detroit Lions staff.
Warren was a four-year letterman who started his senior campaign in All-America fashion and was named to a Midseason All-America squad by Collegefootballnews.com before a high ankle sprain against Kansas limited his effectiveness the rest of the season. He earned ABC Player of the Game honors against Virginia Tech when he recorded a career-high 12 tackles. Warren ended his career with 13 career sacks.
Davis was a four-year letterman and this past year was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award presented annually to the nation's top collegiate defensive back. Despite teams throwing to the other side of the field a great deal, Davis managed 11 interceptions during his career, the most since Kevin Smith set the school mark with 20 from 1988-91. Davis broke up 29 passes in his career and he made a total of 38 career starts including his last 36 consecutive games. This past season he recorded a career-high 13 tackles against Texas Tech.
