Junior center Andy Slocum has been suspended indefinitely from the Texas A&M basketball team, Aggies coach Melvin Watkins said Monday. Slocum was arrested early Sunday morning for felony possession of steroids.

"At this point, we think it is best for Andy to step away from basketball and focus on his situation," Watkins said. "We don't have enough information right now to make a permanent decision about his future with our basketball program. We will wait for the judicial process to be completed and base any further disciplinary action on that outcome."

Slocum missed the first seven games this season after undergoing back surgery in October. He has played in the last seven games, averaging 4.1 points and 5.7 rebounds.
