| --Senior forward Brian Brookhart will share his thoughts on the season, and other things, with us each week in AggieAthletics.com's journal segment. Journal Entry #9 What a week of highs and lows. We had a huge win against Texas Tech over the weekend to deny Coach Bobby Knight his 800th win, and then had a major let down when we played Baylor on the road and lost. Tech was a great game with an incredible atmosphere. It was the first sellout crowd for Aggie Basketball at Reed Arena with 12,000+ fans showing up. It was amazing to play in front of a crowd like that because of all the energy the fans bring. Twan and Bernard both had great games. The play of the game was Twan's dunk over Kasib Powell. It was an incredible play and it was on every highlight reel across the country. Then we traveled to Baylor and couldn't get it going in the second half. In the first half we controlled the game and played the way we were supposed to and know how to. Then in the second half we got really passive against Baylor's zone and our offense struggled because of it. We didn't knock down shots and Baylor made some crucial shots that really hurt us. This loss really stung. We had a chance to move up in the Big 12 conference race and let it slip through our fingers. We don't have time to dwell on the loss though. We have to regroup and refocus and get ready to play Texas at home on Saturday. We are now 11-7 overall and 3-4 in conference. This game this weekend means a lot to both teams, so we all know we are in for a battle. It should be a great game and one that I feel we can win if we make shots and rebound the ball better than we did in Austin. |
