The No. 19 Texas A&M softball team won both its games today in the St. Joseph's Aggie Invitational II softball tournament. They beat Wichita State 7-0 and Southeastern Louisiana 4-3 to move to 10-6 on the year.

The Aggies first victory came against Wichita State in the 2;30 game at the Aggie Softball Complex. The 7-0 win was junior Jessica Slataper's fourth of the season as she moved to 4-4 on the year. The junior from humble tied a season high by recording 11 strikeouts while holding the Shockers to just two hits on the day.

Texas A&M was led offensively by junior Sherah Atkins who was two for four with two RBI's as the Aggies seven runs came off of 10 hits and one Wichita State error.

The Aggies faced off against Southeastern Louisiana in their second game of the day and after trailing the entire game they pulled through with clutch hitting from pinch hitter Nicole Robinson and left fielder Jana James.

Trailing by one run heading into the final inning Robinson entered the game and delivered a one out single that got the Aggies rolling in their final at bat. Senior Cheryl Fowler followed Robinson's single with a walk and set the table for sophomore Jana James to bring home the winning runs. James stepped in to the box and provided the drama as she laced the pitch into left center for a bases clearing, game winning double.

The win improved the nationally ranked Aggies record to 10-6 on the year and 2-0 in the St. Joseph's Aggie Invitational II. Junior Lindsay Wilhelmson struck out three in route to her fourth win of the season. Senior Selena Collins hit her fourth home run of the year and her first of the year at home. Freshman Kristen Gunter followed the seniors lead by sending a shot over the fence to give her two on the year.

Tournament action resumes tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. with Southeastern Louisiana taking on Wichita State in a double header followed by Texas A&M and Prairie View A&M in a double header at 2:00.
