Well we arrived back home from Palo Alto at approximately 2:30 in the morning.

Although it was late, the trip was not miserable, seeing as how we had a great tournament. I really thought our team did a great job in the way we showed up ready to play. I think we are making steps in the right direction. And although we are not the type of team like Georgia, a sing cheers and slap gloves and yell in your face type team, I feel we are finding that the type of team we can be is a team that is out there because we love the game. It shows in our voices and enthusiasm. It is not a forced feeling. I feel that our team is slowly getting the idea of what it is to be ready to play mentally as far as staying in a game with fun and enthusiasm. When we come out there happy and excited to play, we tend to get great outcomes. But, it's when we come out silent when I begin to worry about what we are about to bring to the table. Having fun should be our motto, it's the way we play best.

The thing that I liked about this weekend was that everyone contributed, whether it was on the field or off. We were ready. I could see a difference in our team...like I say it's so contagious. Not just physically, when it comes to getting hits and things like that, but I think it's contagious when one person is excited to the next. Even though we only got a mini-article in The Battalion about winning the tournament, it was a big deal. We are just as good as anyone and that, ranked or unranked, we can compete with and defeat anyone if we come ready, but it has to be the full team...not just half but the whole team.

I am excited for what's to come. We leave for Florida Thursday and play UTA tomorrow. UTA is a team to beat in that we know they are gunning for us, so they are definitely not a team to overlook. In the game of softball, you can't over look anyone. So here's to a great game tomorrow and a great 10 days in Florida. Whoop!
