Texas A&M Head Football Coach Dennis Franchione put the Aggie football team through a full pads workout on Wednesday.

"We've got a lot to do but I was pleased to scrimmage some and we needed to do some tackling and we needed to get tackled," Coach Fran said. "I thought Courtney Lewis (redshirt freshman running back) was one guy who stood out, if I had to single one player. I thought Derek Farmer (junior running back) made some nice runs as well."

"I look back as a comparison on the first six days of work at Alabama and TCU, and I think these guys (A&M) have done a lot," Coach Fran said. "We still have a long way to go, but we're getting the effort."

The Aggies will spend Thursday in the film and weight rooms before returning to workout on the grass practice fields on Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m. Practices are open to the public, but fans are encouraged to call the practice hotline at 979-458-2185 to register and for other instructions and information.

The Aggies will conclude spring drills with a Maroon & White Game, presented by AT&T Wireless, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 12 at Kyle Field. Advance tickets are $5 and tickets the day of the game will be $7. For more ticket information contact the athletic ticket office at 1-888-99-AGGIE or 979-845-2311, or access the spring football information at AggieAthletics.com.
