The Texas A&M volleyball team begins its spring exhibition season at the Arizona Spring Tournament Saturday in Tucson. All matches will be played at the McKale Center on the UA campus.

The Aggies will play a minimum of four matches in the 12-team, one-day tournament, beginning with pool matches against Pittsburgh and 2002 NCAA participant Louisville at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. (CST), respectively. All pool matches will be two games to 30 points.

Following pool play, teams will be ranked from 1-12 and split into three four-team brackets. Tournament matches will be best two-out-of-three games to 30 points with the third game to 15. All games are rally scoring with no cap.

Other teams participating in the tournament are Arizona and Michigan State, who were ranked 10th and 22nd, respectively, in the final 2002 USA Today/AVCA Top 25 Poll, as well as other NCAA tournament participants Colorado State and Michigan State. Big 12 Conference foe Baylor also is competing in the tournament.

The Aggies continue their spring schedule at the TCU tournament April 12 in Fort Worth. Other teams competing in the event include Texas Tech, SMU, Southwest Texas State, Texas-Arlington and Lamar.

A&M then closes out the spring season with a home tournament on April 17. Other teams participating in the tournament to be held at G. Rollie White Coliseum are Houston, Texas-San Antonio and the Haggies, a group of former A&M volleyball standouts, including All-American Jenna Moscovic, Michelle Cole and Brandi Mount.

Texas A&M coach Laurie Corbelli returns five starters from the fall season in which A&M went 21-10 and made its 10th consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament.
